Location

Corfu is one of the most North Western of all the 3000+ Greek islands and lies at the entrance of the Adriatic Sea, in front of Albania. The island is the second largest of the Ionians after Kefalonia. It has an area of 592 sq. km and a coastline of 216 km.

The island has a population of approximately 110,000 inhabitants and 30,000 are living in the capital.

Corfu is a mountainous island in the north with, as highest mountain, the Mt. Pantokrator (914 meters) in the northern centre.

Confusingly, Corfu has 3 villages called San Stefanos but the 2 main, popular and recognised ones are San Stefanos, Sinies (NE) and San Stefanos, Avliotes (NW) where Villa Quietude is located as the last Villa on a narrow peninsular. If you are intrested to explore the island suggest you hire a car in Corfu.

For direction to San Stefanos, Avliotes and "Villa Quietude" from the port and the airport you can download these directions (aprox. 152 Kb).
